During her cover, Clarkson belted the intense lyrics in a raspy tone, and told the song’s story with intense passion.
Jelly Roll himself was incredibly moved by Clarkson’s rendition. ”I would’ve never believed you if you would’ve told me that I’d write a song so impactful that incredible Kelly Clarkson would deem it worthy to cover. Released off of his 2020 album Self Medicated, ”Save Me” reached the number 19 position on the Billboard US Hot 100 charts. In 2023, a version with vocals from Lainey Wilson was released.
